There are lots of merchandise and many specialty stores to shop from in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the main shopping area being around the Stroget. In fact, a branch of the popular Bang & Olufsen Company of Denmark that deals with expensive audio equipment is found here. Some of the merchandise to find around the Stroget includes Danish Royal Porcelain, Scandinavian clothing, and jewelry with Danish amber and so on. There are also other shopping malls and markets in Copenhagen with conducive atmosphere for your shopping.

Majority of the stores in Copenhagen remain open from 09:00 to 19:00 on Monday to Friday, and 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays. Some major supermarkets also open on Sundays for few hours.

As mentioned earlier, the Stroget area that is highly pedestrianized bears most of the shopping activities in Copenhagen. Stroget’s history can be traced back to early 1060s. Some of the famous sights in Denmark, and particularly Copenhagen, are to be found along the historical line of the Stroget. Examples include the Radhuspladsen (Town Hall Square), the Gammeltory and the Kongens Nytorv squares. The Stroget area has some of the greatest names as far as Danish clothing and generally, designer shopping is concerned. The specific area of the Stroget that stands out in this is around the Kronprinsensgade, where you will find players in designer wear such as Versace, Gucci, Prada and many more.

The Fields Shopping Centre is found few miles from the heart of Copenhagen city. This mega mall has over 150 stores as well as outlets. It is not only big and popular in Copenhagen, but is also well ranked among other great malls in Northern Europe.

There are also other shops at the Copenhagen Airport, which bring out the Scandinavian status of the city. These shops are more than 50 and are found in the transfer area of the international terminal.
