All the palaces are beautiful landmarks that date back to 1794 where the royal family lived after the Christiansborg castle was destroyed by fire. Built above water and surrounded by canals the Stock Exchange building stands tall and is decorated ornately featuring 3 crowns that represent the high-flying Scandinavian Denmark counties as well as Norway and Sweden. It became the country’s stock exchange in the 19th century when the financial scene was mushrooming. It is open at 08:15 – 17:00 from Monday to Thursday and 08:15-16:15 on Friday.

This is the current home to the Danish parliament and Supreme Court and has been a popular landmark for a long time. It has been remodeled twice giving it different styles of architecture after it was destroyed by fire at the end of 18th and 19th century. It is a tall building located on the waterfront. • Den Lille Havfrue/ Little Mermaid
