Introduction
Copenhagen is the capital city of Denmark that has an estimated population of well over 1.1 million people. Before one gets to Copenhagen just like any other cities in the world he will need to go through a number of procedures at the borders of the city’s country. The fares for both the bus and metro transport are similar and some basic fares can cover two zones, and hence the passengers are allowed to travel between trains and buses with just one ticket. In this article, we will look at the various means of transport available in Copenhagen.

Bus and Coach Travel
The bus and coach travel are popular means of transport as they are both cheap and reliable. Their pricing is done according to the number of zones one will pass through before getting to his destination. Unless one has a travel card, fare is paid to the driver as one boards the bus or coach. One can also consider buying a clip card that is used for at least ten rides that are within two or three travel zones.

Train Travel
The main transport stations in Copenhagen are the Norreport Station and the Hovedbanegarden (or rather the Grand Central Station). These are the points where S-trains, buses and intercity trains converge. The Grand Central station is located at Banegardspladsen. This point allows one to travel to towns, outlying suburbs, beaches and resorts. The trains that operate within Copenhagen run between Vanlose and Christianshavn among other cities within few minutes.

Travel by Air
The main Copenhagen airport is located to the south of the city at Kastrup town and specifically on Amager island, about 8 kilometers from the city centre and it is known as the Kopenhamns Flyplats. This airport sees up to 21 million passengers in a year.

Travel by Car Rental and Taxi
Car rentals are quite manageable and provide many people’s needs. With the use of car rentals, one needs to purchase tickets from the automated machines called ‘ billetautomat’ to secure parking. Taxis are also popular in use in Copenhagen city. Majority of the taxis can be found queued at the train station and other central areas within the city. One can also access taxi by making a telephone call.
